In the soft light of this new morning, I bow to the Three Jewels; Buddha, Dharma, Sangha, that guide my path towards enlightenment.
I am reminded of the profound wisdom shared in the sacred Dhammapada, verse 220, that as kinsmen welcome a dear one on arrival, so too will my own good deeds welcome me to the world beyond.
May I strive to be the doer of good, the giver of kindness, the beacon of compassion, and the well-wisher of all sentient beings.
As the sun rises, may my actions rise in goodness, as the lotus blooms from the muddy waters, may my wisdom bloom from the trials of life.
May each word I speak echo with truth and love, may each step I take lead towards harmony, may my life be a testament to the Dharma, and may my journey inspire others on the path of righteousness.
In the face of adversity, may I remember the impermanence of all things, embracing change with grace, and maintaining equanimity in all circumstances.
I aspire to live mindfully and compassionately, not for the sake of gaining merit or avoiding punishment, but because it is the path of awakening, the path that leads to the realm of peace and happiness.
May I remember that in every breath, in every heartbeat, there is an opportunity to do good, to make a difference, to shape my destiny.
I shall conclude my prayer with the mantra, "Just as kinsmen welcome a dear one on arrival, may my good deeds welcome me from this world to the next."
May this mantra serve as my compass throughout the day, guiding my thoughts, words, and actions towards goodness, towards kindness, towards compassion.
Just as kinsmen welcome a dear one on arrival, may my good deeds welcome me from this world to the next.
Amen.
