In the light of the new dawn, I bow to the wisdom of the Enlightened One,
In reverence of the Dhammapada, Chapter Seven, Verse Ninety-Four,
I seek to tame my senses, like a skilled charioteer tames his horses,
To destroy my pride and cleanse my soul from the cankers of ignorance.
I take refuge in the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha,
May their wisdom guide my path, as I walk through the journey of life.
Just as the gods hold dear the wise one, whose senses are subdued,
Let me too, strive to cultivate wisdom, and be held dear by the universe.
Help me to discern the impermanent from the eternal,
To release my attachments, and embrace the serenity of detachment.
In the silence of my heart, may I hear the whisperings of truth,
May my actions reflect compassion, my words echo kindness, my thoughts breed love.
From the snares of delusion, may I be freed,
From the chains of suffering, may I be released,
In the silence of my heart, in the depths of my soul,
May I find the peace that transcends all worldly woes.
As the sun rises, casting away the darkness,
May I too rise above my ignorance, illuminating the world with wisdom.
From this moment onwards, until the end of the day,
May my heart be filled with loving kindness, my mind with tranquility, my spirit with joy.
With every breath I take, let me remember:
"Subdue your senses, destroy your pride, be free from cankers."
This shall be my mantra, my guiding light,
To be recited in the morning, noon, and night.
