Bowing in reverence to the Three Jewels – Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, I begin this day in the spirit of mindfulness and compassion.
Just as the Buddha, the Enlightened One, cast off human bonds and transcended heavenly ties, I too aspire to be free from the chains of ignorance, craving, and aversion. I seek the wisdom to discern the ephemeral nature of the world and the courage to let go of attachments that hinder my spiritual progress.
In the serene dawn of this new day, I invoke the teachings of the Dhammapada, “He who casts off human bonds and transcends heavenly ties, is wholly delivered of all bondages — him do I call a holy man."
May I strive to be like the holy man, unburdened by the fetters of the world, released from the cycle of birth and death, immersed in the blissful state of Nirvana. May each breath I take, each thought I have, each word I utter, each action I perform, be guided by the light of wisdom and the warmth of compassion.
May I cultivate loving-kindness towards all beings, share in their joys and sorrows, and contribute to their well-being. May I be a beacon of peace and harmony, radiating the universal message of Buddha's teachings.
As I navigate through the day, may I remain anchored in mindfulness, fully present in each moment, fully aware of the impermanence of all phenomena, fully committed to the path of liberation.
In moments of joy and sorrow, clarity and confusion, tranquility and turbulence, may I remember the Buddha's timeless wisdom - "All things arise and pass away."
May this prayer serve as a reminder of my aspiration to transcend worldly bonds and ascend to the state of complete liberation, just as the lotus blooms untouched by the murky waters.
Closing mantra: "Om Moksha Svaha" (Om, liberation, hail)
May I carry this mantra in my heart, repeating it throughout the day as a reminder of my ultimate aim – liberation from all bondages. Om Moksha Svaha.
