Blessed are You, Eternal our God, Ruler of the universe, who brings forth the new day and shines the light upon us. As we arise this morning, we are reminded of Your words in the sacred scriptures, "Thy graven images also will I cut off, and thy standing images out of the midst of thee; and thou shalt no more worship the work of thine hands."
May we heed these words, dear God, and remember that it is not the material possessions or the accomplishments of our hands that we should worship. Instead, let us lift our hearts and our hands to You, the Creator of all things, the Source of all blessings.
Help us, O Lord, to focus our gaze upon what truly matters in this life - love, compassion, righteousness, and peace. Guide us to live in humility and gratitude, acknowledging that all we have and all we are, comes from You.
Strengthen us in our resolve to honor You in all we do, to follow Your commandments, and to walk in Your ways. May we strive not to be seduced by the idols of our time but to seek Your face in all things and all people.
Thank you, Lord, for the gift of this new day. May it be a day filled with Your presence, a day where we seek to do Your will, and a day where we strive to bring honor to Your Name.
In the spirit of our ancestors and the Jewish traditions that bind us, we pray these words with grateful hearts. Amen.
