Supreme Brahman, the omnipresent, the eternal, the pure,
As I commence this new day in the cycle of life, I seek your divine guidance and blessings.
May I embody the teaching of the Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 2, Verse 5,
That it is better to live by begging, than to taint life’s joys with the blood of the noble and wise.
Bestow upon me the wisdom to understand the value of life,
May I learn to live with compassion, humility and respect for all beings.
Help me, O Lord, to remember that wealth and pleasures are temporary,
They hold no worth if gained through harm and deceit.
Show me the path of Dharma, the righteous way,
Keep my actions pure, devoid of harm to myself and others.
Teach me to honour my elders, my teachers,
Those who have bestowed upon me the wisdom of life.
As the sun rises, may it illuminate my path with righteousness,
And as it sets, may it take away any ignorance that remains.
O Divine light, guide me away from the darkness of ego,
And into the light of selfless service and love.
In this journey of life, may I constantly strive,
To be a beacon of peace, compassion and humility.
Om Shanti, Shanti, Shanti,
Let there be peace in my thoughts, words and actions.
Mantra for the day:
"Om Dharma Pravartaya Namaha"
(I bow to the one who sets righteousness in motion)
May this mantra remind me throughout the day,
To live in truth, righteousness and selfless service.
