Oh, Divine Mother, giver of wisdom and nourishment,
I humbly offer my salutations unto You.
As the Sun rises and the world awakens,
I seek Your guidance to make choices that are pure and sattvic.
Bhagavad Gita 17.9 reminds me of the nature of passion,
Too bitter, sour, salty, hot, pungent, dry, and full of chillies,
Such food dear to those in the mode of passion,
But they bear the seeds of pain, grief, and disease.
Help me, Oh Divine Mother, to resist these passions,
To choose wisely the sustenance that will nourish my body and soul.
Let me not be swayed by the fleeting pleasures of the senses,
But seek the eternal bliss of balance and harmony.
As I go about my day, let me remember the wisdom of the Gita,
To consume not just in hunger, but with consciousness and gratitude.
May my food be an offering to You, a prayer of thanks,
A testament to my commitment to live a life of sattva.
Bless me with strength, Divine Mother, to make choices that are true,
To remember that the body is a temple, and the food is a sacrament.
May I honour it as such, in every bite, in every sip,
And find in it the path to health, happiness and tranquility.
In the silence of my heart, I offer this prayer,
May it resonate through my day, in all that I do.
And let me remember, as I navigate the world,
The mantra that guides me, true and clear,
"Food is Divine, Balance is Bliss."
Om Shanti, Shanti, Shanti.
