Divine Presence, the All-Pervading One, I bow to You in reverence. I seek Your guidance and wisdom in understanding the profound truth in the verse from the Bhagavad Gita 17.18.
Oh, the supreme consciousness, help me to perform my actions not for ostentation or for gaining honor, respect, and adoration, but for the sheer love and dedication towards the task at hand. Enable me to understand that the true value lies in the act of doing and not in the fruits of the action.
May my actions reflect the purity of my heart and not the desire for appreciation. Remind me that the benefits of actions done in the mode of passion are unstable and transitory, and it is the actions done in the mode of goodness and selflessness that bear lasting and meaningful fruits.
Help me to cultivate humility and modesty, to perform my duties without expectation of reward or recognition. May I abandon the ego, surrendering all my actions to You, the divine will, the eternal truth.
Guide me to understand that true austerity is an inward journey, a path of self-discovery, self-improvement, and self-realization. It is not about outward displays of piety or righteousness but about cultivating inner purity, integrity, and truthfulness.
Endow me with the wisdom to navigate through this life with grace, dignity, and a sense of purpose. Help me to lead a life that is in harmony with nature, in service of humanity, and in devotion to You.
As I end this prayer, I carry with me the mantra, "Samatvam Yoga Uchyate," meaning "Equanimity is Yoga." May this mantra remind me throughout the day to maintain a balanced mind, to be equal in success and failure, gain and loss, pleasure and pain.
Samatvam Yoga Uchyate. Samatvam Yoga Uchyate. Samatvam Yoga Uchyate.
