Heavenly Father, my protector and guide, as I wake to the dawn of a new day, I am reminded of Your Word from the book of Matthew, chapter 14 verse 11, "And his head was brought in a charger, and given to the damsel: and she brought it to her mother."

As I ponder on this verse, I am reminded of the courage of Your faithful servant, John the Baptist who stood for truth and righteousness. He spoke against the sin of Herod without fear, even at the cost of his own life. May his courage inspire me today and every day.

Lord, I pray that I too may exhibit such bravery and conviction in my own life. Help me to stand firm in my faith, to speak the truth in love, and to promote Your values in a world that often seems to have forgotten them.

May I be a beacon of Your light, Father, reflecting Your love and grace to those around me. May I not fear the consequences of standing for what is right, but instead, let me rejoice in the knowledge that I am doing Your will.

As I face the trials and tribulations of the day, guide me Lord, to be a vessel of Your peace. May I extend kindness to those in need, bring comfort to those in pain, and uplift those who are downtrodden.

Help me also to remember, Lord, that like John, I am called to prepare the way for You. May my words, my actions, and my life draw others closer to You.

Thank you, Father, for the gift of this new day. May it be a day lived for Your honor and glory.
