Morning Prayer:
In the soft glow of morning, we awaken to the truth of impermanence,
In the rising sun, we see the promise of a new day, a new chance for understanding.
Buddha, we honor your teachings and wisdom,
We remember your words, "There are those who do not realize that one day we all must die. But those who do realize this settle their quarrels."
In acknowledging our mortality, we find humility and compassion.
We strive to live with the wisdom of knowing the fleeting nature of life,
May we not be blinded by ignorance or consumed by anger,
Rather, we choose to live in peace and harmony with all beings.
We aspire to follow the noble eightfold path,
With right view, right intention, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right concentration.
May we cultivate wisdom, ethical conduct, and mental discipline.
As we settle our quarrels and let go of attachments,
We experience the tranquility of mind and the purity of heart.
Grant us the courage to face the impermanent nature of life,
And the wisdom to live in the present moment.
In the quiet stillness of the morning, we remember,
All things arise, abide, and cease in the cycle of existence.
In understanding this, we find peace and liberation.
In the spirit of Metta, we extend our love and kindness to all beings,
May all beings be happy, may all beings be safe, may all beings awaken to the light of truth.
Mantra for the day:
"Embracing impermanence, I live in peace."
Repeat this mantra throughout the day to remind yourself of the wisdom of embracing the transient nature of life and the importance of living peacefully.
