May this morning light awaken my mind,
As I breathe in the freshness of a new day,
May I be aware of my actions and their sway.
In the vastness of the sky, or in the depths of the ocean deep,
In the hidden corners of the mountain's keep,
Nowhere can one escape the effects of deeds unkind,
This truth of the universe, may I always keep in mind.
I seek wisdom from the Buddha, the enlightened one,
To guide me on the path, till the day is done.
May my words reflect compassion, my actions mirror love,
May I be mindful of the consequences, with guidance from above.
Let me not be swayed by anger, nor be blinded by greed,
In every moment, let me be aware of my every deed.
With every breath, may I strive to be pure,
In thoughts, words, and actions, may goodness endure.
As I embark on the journey of this day,
Help me, O Buddha, to walk the Middle Way.
May I embrace impermanence, with equanimity and grace,
And find in the present moment, my true and peaceful place.
In the face of evil, may I always choose good,
Living each moment, as a true Buddha would.
May I generate loving-kindness, for all beings far and wide,
In the refuge of the Dhamma, may I always abide.
Mantra for the day: "Aware of my actions, I choose the good,
Living this day, as a true Buddha would."
