In the tranquil light of dawn, we gather our hearts and minds, humbly beseeching the wisdom of the Dhammapada, the sacred path of the Buddha's teachings.
Oh, Great Compassionate Buddha, guide us in our journey towards Nibbana. As we welcome this fresh morning, may we remember the teachings of the Dandavagga: Violence, Chapter 10, Verse 134.
Just as a broken gong remains silent, so too may we find peace in the quietude of our own hearts. Teach us to silence the clamor of our vindictive thoughts, to let go of anger and resentment, to move beyond the discord of ignorance and into the harmony of understanding.
May we embrace the serenity of silence, the profound wisdom in stillness. Like the gong that no longer reverberates with the echoes of past strikes, may our hearts too become free from the echoes of past hurts.
May we cultivate a mind that is clear and calm as a placid lake, free from the ripples of harmful thoughts. Let our hearts be a sanctuary of peace, where compassion blossoms and the seeds of wisdom take root.
In the radiant light of this new day, may we strive to approach closer to Nibbana, where vindictiveness has no place and peace prevails.
Oh, Great Buddha, guide us in this journey. May compassion be our compass, wisdom our guide, and peace our destination.
As we move through our day, let our mantra be, "Be still, be silent, like a broken gong, let peace prevail within."
In the name of the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha, we offer this prayer.
Mantra for the day: "Be still, be silent, like a broken gong, let peace prevail within."
