In the soft light of dawn, I bow my head in humility and grace,
Seeking the divine path of the Buddha, the trackless one of limitless space.
Oh Buddha, the enlightened one, your wisdom is my guide,
In your teachings, I seek refuge, in your Dharma, I confide.
You who has triumphed over defilements, your victory no one can undo,
I seek to follow your path, to your teachings, I'll remain true.
The trackless Buddha, of limitless range, guide me through my day,
Help me to embrace compassion, in every word I say.
May I see the suffering of others, with a heart that's open and kind,
And in my actions and thoughts, may I your wisdom find.
With patience and understanding, may I face adversity,
And in the face of anger, may I remember your equanimity.
In your enlightenment, I seek my path, in your teachings, I find my way,
May I strive to embody your wisdom, in every act, in every day.
For you are the Buddha, the enlightened one, the vanquisher of all strife,
I seek to follow your path, and lead a compassionate, mindful life.
As I rise with the morning sun, I humbly bow my head,
And repeat this simple mantra, as you have often said:
"May I be a vessel of compassion, may I walk the Buddha's way,
May I embody wisdom and kindness, in each and every day."
In the name of the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha,
I dedicate this prayer and mantra, to the path of the Buddha.
And so, I end this morning prayer, with a mantra for the day,
"Buddham Saranam Gacchami, Dhammam Saranam Gacchami, Sangham Saranam Gacchami."
(I go to the Buddha for refuge, I go to the Dharma for refuge, I go to the Sangha for refuge.)
