May the light of dawn illuminate our path,
As we awaken to the wisdom of the Buddha.
With a heart full of compassion, we start this day,
Guided by the teachings of the Dhammapada.
"All things are not-self," a profound truth we recognize,
In the vastness of the universe, we see our humble size.
May we understand this wisdom, with open hearts and open eyes,
Turning away from suffering, in the path to purification lies.
As we journey through this day, let's remember our true nature,
Transient, interdependent, in every single feature.
May we not cling to ego, nor be swayed by false allure,
See within each moment, impermanence so pure.
Let us walk with mindfulness, in every step and every breath,
In the face of impermanence, in the face of life and death.
May we cultivate compassion, for all beings in distress,
For in their suffering, we find our own redress.
Oh, the wisdom of the Buddha, so profound and so clear,
"All things are not-self," let this echo in our ear.
May we turn away from suffering, find peace in the here and now,
In every moment, in every breath, to this truth, may we bow.
Now, let us carry this mantra, throughout the day, let it be,
"All things are not-self," a reminder of our journey.
May it guide us, may it transform us, as we strive to be free,
"All things are not-self," the path to purity.
"All things are not-self," let this be our refrain,
With every sunrise, with every sunset, let this truth remain.
"All things are not-self," let this wisdom sustain,
Through joy and through sorrow, through pleasure and through pain.
