Noble morning, awakened one, I begin this day in your divine light,
In the spirit of Dhammapada, chapter 21, verse 293, I recite with delight.
Oh, great Buddha, guide me to be mindful and clear,
Help me practice earnest mindfulness, without any fear.
Let my body be the vessel of this mindful quest,
For through this path, I find my rest.
Teach me to cease the cankers that cloud my mind,
Guide me to the wisdom that I must find.
Instill in me the courage to do what should be done,
And abstain from actions that should be shun.
Let the light of Dharma illuminate my path,
And shield me from the repercussions of Karma's wrath.
Lead me, oh Buddha, in the pursuit of truth and grace,
So I may find serenity in this worldly pace.
With each breath, I vow to be mindful and pure,
In every action, your teachings I assure.
Oh, great Buddha, in your wisdom I confide,
Guide me from the darkness, be my guide.
Today and every day, may I be steadfast and strong,
Keeping your teachings in my heart, all day long.
Oh Buddha, I seek refuge in your divine glow,
Help me walk the Eightfold Path, and wisdom to grow.
And now, as I end this prayer, I affirm this mantra in my heart,
"May I be mindful, may I be steadfast, may I play my part."
This, I shall repeat throughout the day,
In the spirit of Buddha, I shall find my way.
May peace be upon all beings, may all beings be at ease,
May all beings be free from suffering, may all beings find peace.
