In the radiant aura of the morning sun, I humbly bow to the teachings of the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha.
With the wisdom of Chapter 26, Verse 390 from the sacred Dhammapada as my guide, I now strive to purge my mind from all that I may find endearing, yet may lead me astray from the Middle Way.
As the day breaks, I invoke the wisdom of the enlightened ones, to help me master my mind. For nothing is better for a holy man than when he holds his mind back from what is endearing. I beseech you, oh great Buddha, to assist me in this endeavor.
May I learn to let go of harmful intentions, recognizing their futility and the suffering they bring. For to the extent the intent to harm wears away, to that extent does suffering subside.
May my mind rise above the fleeting charms of the material world, and instead find joy and peace in compassion, kindness, and equanimity.
As I navigate through this day, may I treat everyone I encounter with respect and love, just as I would a dear friend. May my actions reflect the teachings of the Buddha, and may my mind remain unattached to the endearing, yet impermanent, pleasures of life.
I seek refuge in the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha. May my path be illuminated by their divine wisdom, guiding me towards true liberation and the cessation of all suffering.
As I end this prayer, I hold a simple mantra close to my heart, a phrase to guide my thoughts and actions throughout the day: "May I be free from harm, may I be free from suffering. May my mind remain unattached."
In the name of the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha, I bow in gratitude for this new day and the opportunity to walk the path of righteousness.
