Bowing my body and mind in reverence, I awaken to the dawning light of a new day. In the silence of the morning, I find refuge in the Three Jewels - the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha.
As the sun rises, I remember the words of the Enlightened One from the holy Dhammapada, "All tremble at violence; life is dear to all. Putting oneself in the place of another, one should not kill nor cause another to kill." May these words guide my thoughts, my speech, and my actions throughout the day.
In the mirror of mindfulness, I see the interconnectedness of all beings. I comprehend the fear and suffering caused by violence, as I too, tremble at the thought of it.
I envision myself in the place of another - their hopes, their fears, their joy, and their sorrow. I understand that like me, they too, hold life dear. May this understanding cultivate in me, a heart of compassion, a mind of understanding, and hands that help, not harm.
May I, in all my actions, honor the sanctity of life. May I bring no harm to any living creature, neither by action nor by thought. May I be a beacon of peace, radiating kindness and understanding in every direction.
As I breathe in the morning air, I commit myself to the practice of non-violence - Ahimsa. May I strive to alleviate suffering and promote harmony, peace, and mutual respect among all beings.
In the spirit of Metta, I extend my loving-kindness to all beings without exception. May all beings be safe and free from harm. May all beings be happy and content. May all beings be healthy and strong. May all beings live with ease.
And as I journey through this day, let me remember this simple mantra: "Life is dear to all, harm no one, help all." Let this be my guiding principle, my beacon of light, my path to awakening.
May the merit of this prayer benefit all beings. May all beings be well, may all beings be happy, may all beings be free from suffering.
Svāhā.
