Morning sun illuminates my path,
With humble heart, I greet this day,
In the wisdom of the Buddha, I take my bath,
Guided by Dhammapada, I find my way.
Seek I not the comfort of the beloved,
Nor the disdain of those unloved.
In the middle path, my mind is anchored,
In Buddha's wisdom, I am clothed.
Beloved brings joy, unloved brings pain,
Both are illusions, in life's grand game.
In equanimity, let me remain,
Untouched by pleasure, untouched by pain.
Help me see, O Buddha, the truth so clear,
That attachments to any, bring only fear.
Neither to the beloved, nor the unloved, I adhere,
In your wisdom, I find my sphere.
May I walk today in this wisdom vast,
Unmoved by the future, unbound by the past.
In the now, may my lot be cast,
In Buddha's wisdom, may I hold fast.
Mantra for the day, to keep pain at bay:
"Untouched by pleasure, untouched by pain, in Buddha's wisdom, I remain."
